technical stuff
This is great! People are at least commenting! But you can create posts, too. Or, everyone but Eileen can.
How to post: First, follow the instructions in your invitation email. Your membership to this group is affiliated with an email address that I have given blogger.com -- if you tell it another email, you will not become a member. (But I can change the email address it has if you like.) After that, at any time you may go to http://www.blogger.com to post. Log in, click the blog name and find the tab at the top that says, 'Posting.' Click the 'Create' link below it, and just type. When you're done, scroll down (the outer screen) and hit 'Publish Post.' Ta-da!
Alexandra, I'm sure you discovered this, but if you want to write the HTML yourself, hit the 'Edit HTML' tab up top instead of the 'Compose' tab. You can even toggle back and forth.
Eileen, you created a profile (which is empty) but you are not, mysteriously, on the 'members' list for this blog. :'( I don't know how to change that. Could you follow the link in that invitation email, and make sure you enter the fgumbert@etc. email address?
I've given all the members administrative rights. This means you can change our template (meaning add more links if you have good ones) or our profile -- links to family photos would be much appreciated -- or add members or whatever you want.
Thanks, y'all.

I didn't find it (the button to edit HTML)... where is it, exactly?

You only get the HTML editor option when you post, not when you comment. It's a tab at the top of the writing pane.
But let me check. If that was bold, then HTML code works in comments.
See it? -T.
