My sisters and brothers wanted a way to keep up on what everyone is reading and doing. I made this blog for us, our parents and our kids -- and some friends.

Michael Sowa

Family, meet my favorite still-living artist. (Okay, I really hope he's still living.)

Cathy and I chanced upon a few postcards of his work in Cape Cod the fall I left Connecticut. It was too detailed and too evocative (I thought) to really qualify as cartooning, although Sowa is capable of that. He illustrates a lot of children's books, one of which is called Esterhazy. The original is in German, Alexandra. Another, La vie des animaux, is in French. The Little King December seems to be in English. I'll need a few dictionaries, but I think I'll buy them all.

books, music, movies

Okay, books I'm reading:
Stillness in the Storm, Golden Blade 2003, 55th issue
Theosophy, by Rudolf Steiner
The Elegant Universe, by Brian Greene
Lea und K:onig Wuff (don't have a German keypad setting onhand so I'll edit in the proper letters, but for now a collon before a letter is a umlaout however that's spelled -- children's book in German), by Antonie Schneider
R:atzel f:ur Kinder (auf Deutsch, puzzles for kids)

I think that's it. Ooo, as for music, I've been listenning to the soundtrack to the Guys and Dolls musical -- thnx for the CD, grandma!!!

<3>Movies that I've liked recently:
The Interpreter
Downfall (Die Untergangen -- auf Deutsch mit English subtitles)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe
Madagascar
probably more that I'm not thinking of

Math camp starts Sunday, so yay! At grandma and grandma's now with Cathy and Marc -- he's gotten so big!

do-di-do-di-doo....
Yeah, rambling with no apparent point so I'd better go~ hope all are well!
